Smack me with the stupid stick (again)! Listening to this week’s (5/6) Genealogy Guys podcast, I was reminded of a super basic consideration which I had completely filed away. I’ve been searching for records pertaining to Luigi Co Depietro’s brief time in Philadelphia preceding his early death. Entries for “Co Depietro” and the usual variations (CoDepietro, CoDipeitro, Codipietro, and Col vs Co) turned up little to nothing. However, searching for Depietro and De Pietro helped identify his WWI Draft Registration. His named was signed CoDipietro, but an unseen annotator inscribed Di Pietro above the signature (presumably for filing purposes).
