Labor Day weekend (& the annual celebration of Moi’s arrival on the planet) was almost rained out. The planned escapade to Providence was not to be. Fortunately, much was accomplished on the flooring project. We are now 99% done with the main flooring.
Sunday we trekked out to Strasburg to ride the historic Strasburg Railroad Shortline and visit the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum. Both are definitely worth the time. We spent the evening in Harrisburg taking in ArtFest and had an excellent dinner outdoors at Stock’s on 2nd! The capital was well lit and provided a great backdrop to the fireworks.
Monday morning most of Harrisburg was closed due to the government holiday. We had breakfast at the recently transplanted Tom Sawyer Diner & Entertainment Complex. This diner was originally located in Allentown, PA & has been given given a second life in the state’s capital. We managed to find caffeine at no less than the Caffeine Connection directly across from the capital on 3rd St. The vibe was warm, the staff and customers were happy, and the coffee was plentiful and fresh!
Monday afternoon we moved along to the AACA Museum (American Antique Car Assoc) in Hershey which also shares it’s space with the Museum of Bus Transportation!
